looking good already - any part no's on the orbital and pump ? Look on the trail- gear.ca site in the buggy section for the part #s. there are three different orbitals to chose from., depending on what u have for a cylinder and how fast u want ur steering.

I was joking about the new kitchen! haha ...the garberator in the sink.
But OK! That's still pretty good for a little diesel. You going to work it over, like head porting or internal mods? Is the fuel pump able to be modified?

Is the fuel pump able to be modified? Oh shit, sorry. Between baby, house and buggy, I'm not 100% sure which way is up somedays...LOL I'm not plannin on doin much with the engine until after the buggy is up and runnin. I'm not sure I'm goin to like the diesel, so I don't want to put to much into it at first. I'll get it out and run it a bit first.

Porting/internal mods are not overly effective unless you're looking to run crazy amounts of boost... With the pump you can turn the boost pin to dump in more fuel (smokey fun power), adjust the waste gate (or weld it over) for more boost. There are a few other little things you can do to get small bumps of power out of it.
I'm not entirely sure where you're located rue but if you're around the Valley go see Chris Russell @ Jack's auto in Cambridge. He's been playing with diesels for longer than most in the area and can tell you what you can and can't do easily for power. He built a diesel for drag-racing at the track and a few of the guys who work in there with him have some higher HP diesels (which work very well)
Beauty of what you're doing is if you want more power you should be able to bolt up a newer TDI to whatever bell-housing adapter you make and get more (and more reliable) power out of a newer engine.

I was looking for part no's off the valve and pump itself - wondering what brand they are using and/or if they are covering up another label like CharLynn for instance.

These are the only markings on the valve As for the pump there are no markings on it beside the Trailgear part number.

How many rpm is the garberator going to spin up to? lol buggy looks neat so far. different. over 5000 rpm are easy....put a 1.9 mls headgasket in and either new non stretch type head bolts or ARP STUDS.Put in either GT nozzels or ones for a Mercedes 300. if you can get a cam plate for a 1.9 they werk better in the 1.6 inj. pump. Also shim the governer spring..You can rotate the boost pin...etc...lol..i could go on for days..lol

Well I have a chassis. Picked at it a few nights this week and finished it up Saturday. Now it's home and I can start fitting things in it. It came together pretty quick. I bent the main part of the chassis up at work. Nice to have some good tools to work with. LOL used the Bridgeport mill to knotch the tube. By gettin 1.5" tubing I was able to use the shops tube shark bender. That's a little nicer than a kinker. LOL

Took too long, start over. lol Nice to be able to use the professional gear and clean tube.
Chassis is a bit different eh? the lower main tubes around the engine give a ton of room for fitting stuff. The slight kinks to turn the nose down will help visibility, I've found mine to be a bit long and hard to see out the front.
I like the canted roofline from the side. I'm guessing the chassis is kinda small, and you needed headroom? Need some tires for scale to get a better feel for size, in later pics.
What's the overall dims? height/length/width?
