Before you go on a trip like this, you need to save a few of these.

Love the pictures, keep them coming. Any maintenance issues, tires, etc.? Ass get sore? ;D I'm going to guess over $4 K in fuel. Just the standard maintainance, but I built the jeep for the trip. ARB compressor, tranny cooler, stock sized tires, to get back to a favorable gear ratio, CB, storage compartments, including a custom shoe rack, extra 12 volt plugs for IPods, 12 v fridge, the list goes on and on. Ass got sore on the trip home. We got a call on the 29 of June asking us to take part in a Annnual fund raiser for the local food bank and Famers helping Farmers in Kenya. It was 36 C out side at the time and not a beach in sight. We talked it over and decided to head for home -5012km in 4 days!My wife and kids are troopers. We got back on time for the event and auctioned off this bottle of shine for $145 I was going to save it for a special occassion ( kids wedding or Graduation) but it just felt right to raise $$ for the food bank as they are so pressed with the local lobster plant not opening this year. As for gas, we used $3825, of our $4000 allowance.

did you take the top of the world highway ?? No the day we came back down the Dempster it poured rain for about 6 hrs on the American end(Taylor Highway) it was reported to be in bad shape and may get closed later in the day, a tour provider told me he had a coach (bus) stuck on the Taylor end and it might be there for a day before a grader could get it out. So we had beat the gear up enough, and decided to wash the rigs off ($23 in change) and head South. The next time I go North I'll do the Top of the World for sure. Hopefully it will be in something like this.. Comfort and capable The bride fell in love with it!!!

Almost got tired of taking pics of moutains. The Rockies weren't as impressive as I tought they would be. I think if I were to do it again, I'd go through the Rockies first on the way North. The vastness of the Moutains in the North seemed to down play the Rockies. We did have the North basically to our selves for hours at a time Here is a couple from the Dempster. This one has outcroppings that look like castles. This one has a pictogram that we thought looked like a face. Do you see it? Some do some don't

The girls updating on Facebook, to say we were drinking Shine in the midnight sun. That is as low as the sun gets in Inuvik from May 24 - July 19th. Look at the left of the picture we have not even set up the tents yet. Sun pic taken at 1147 pm So when you go to bed at mid night, and you roll over in the tent a couple of hours later, your first reaction when you open your eyes is oh my god i slept in what time is it? You then check your watch to find that it is 230am and you are now wide awake. Might as well get up and go for a walk untill the rest of them wake up.
