Well we just got back from what was a marathon trip Souris PEI to Inuvik Nwt to Prince Rupert BC and home in 30 days. This country is huge!!!!!!!!!!!! 30 days 19,296 kms, two oil changes, 3 air filters, one windsheild, one reverse light lens( bouncing gravel on the Dempster Highway). Tons of bears (Grizzly and Black) Moutain sheep, Bison along the road side. 24 hrs of sunlight is hard to get used to. Had temps in the parries of 36C. Had to cancel some things due to flodding in Manitoba. Water 6km back from the lake in places. Could only get into North Dakota through one highway, all others were closed due to flodding. Great to be back home

There are some road signs on the Dempster you don't see anywhere else

A couple more signs, keep in mind that the air strip is the road. and for those rock lovers Eagles Plains Lodge was the place where I gladly paid $1.69/l for gas

You never know who you maybe sharing the road with 20 ft away from one of these guys in the wild is pretty neat yet un nerving knowing as fast as I could react to his charge he would be in the Jeep with me! I'm parked on the yellow line taking the picture.

This guy was off the road for 3 days before a tow truck could come for him. Good rate though, only $700 for the tow truck, only 150 km in the road.

you never know what may be in the camp site beside you so you have to be SUPER CAREFULL, these guys own the land, we are just visiting. No Black bear here, yes I had one foot on the gas and one on the brake.

Here is the Jeep and trailer after coming down the Dempster. It rained for about the last 1.5 hrs of our trip out. What a mess When I was the rigs off there was damage Rim was beat bad by gravel Paint stripped off Bouncing rocks hitting trailer then back of Jeep breaking reverse light lenses, and taking paint off hard top

Here is the one thing that I think every Canadian should be forced to get in their car to go see. If more people did so, they would have a better out look on life. Many of us don't know how good we have it. This really brought it home for me. This is the most powerfull monument that I've ever been at. Jump in your rig and head to Thunder Bay!

I saw Terry running as we made our way to Ottawa that summer....it was inspiring then - even as a kid! Goes to show we all have greatness in us..........some get to show it and make a difference!
