I'm very lucky in the fact in girls travel as well as their mother. 1200-1500 kms a day is no problem as long they know what the goal is. In this case the return trip was taking them out of 36 C heat and back to the best beach in the world. Here they are last summer I have a better pic but I can't get it to come over from photobucket?? The guy you see on the ladder in this one is about 4' above the bridge in the middle of a back flip

Awesome pics to. My kids have never been more than 2 hours from home in a vehicle, mostly for my sanity. They do okay on an airplane. I do enjoy telling them what the world has to offer beyond 2 hours, but remind them we'd never make it there all in one vehicle.

We started travelling with them from the minute they were born. 3hours in a car to visit on set of grandparents, 4 1/2 hours to see the other set. We visited each set at least once every month for the first year or so. Kids got used to it fairly quickly. Now they read, or play on the Ipod to pass time. Hardly know they are there at times. ;D

Again great pics, wow what a trip! Cindy Thanks Cindy, We were hoping to stay at Grass Lands National Park on the way home but the thought of being in a tent in 36C without any shade at all, out weighed the possiblity of getting some great Parrie pics. We will camp there the next time we go West for a trip.

I have a couple of great pics of the girls wheeling down the Dempster. I thought how many people, get to drive above the Arctic Circle? So I pulled over a gave them a turn Driving on the trip North. They loved it. ;D The older one had a hard job with the pedals as she had only driven a standard before. "But what do I do with my left foot???" Her younger sister came up in the feild with me to practice towing the trailer before we left. It came to both of them pretty quickly. I won't bother incriminating anyone by posting those pics but it was a blast to see the look on a truckers face when he met the 11 yr old at the wheel

One more then I'm done. On our way South from Inuvik we round a corner on the way back down towards the Arctic Circle Plaque. I can see some one in a yellow riding jacket starting to make their way out to the road at a good clip. We get to the end of the road and he is still making his way out waving his arms like crazy. He pulled in to take a picture and the bike blew over in 100km winds. He needed a hand to get it back up. I said sure not a problem. Thanked me about a dozen times, he had been there 3 1/2 hrs without the sign of another person. That's how it goes on that road. Be prepared cause you may be on your own for a while!!

Hey Ken - what kind of tires did you run? any flats? were they new going? Hey Jan I picked up a set of stock Goodyear Wrangler SR A 's. New take offs. I put about 26,000 kms on them since I put them on. They still have about 65% tread left. They run smooth, and quite. No issues with flats, I did have to rebalance them after the second rotation.. Not sure why but they needed it baddly.

We wouldn't even be out the driveway and my oldest girl would be asking ..if i knew where we were going and how long it was going to take..lol. That's an easy one. Across the biggest country in the World. It will take 4-6 weeks, unless you piss me off, then it will take all summer. There is the plug to charge your Ipod there. There are 20 books under the seat for you to read if you want. Settle in and enjoy the ride! If you choose not to enjoy it that is up to you, keep it to yourself and try to tell your friends how bad you have it when you get home! And that's why I'm never going to win Father of the Year!!

He had stripped the bags and gear off of the right side, but couldn't get the gear from under it. Don't forget it was blowing between 80 and 100km/hr. Not to many people I know can lift their bike with that kind of wind trying to hold it down It was all the two of us could do to get it up against the wind. He took a picture of all of the family at the sign for us. As you can see we were huddled fairly tightly, the wind was pushing us all over the place.
