Here's a video of it be-bopping around : ! In watching that video, you can see that it can indeed handle our HRM roads, as most, if not all of that terrain the driver in the video went through is smoother than our roads

If the Canadian and US governments would just let them put in the Euro diesels they would really have something that the mass markets would go for. That'll never happen as long as there is an adequate supply of gasoline in North America...

That'll never happen as long as there is an adequate supply of gasoline in North America... The consumers are held captive to the oil lobby controlling gov't policy on enviro laws. We don't have diesels because the 'big oil' lobby is so effective at directing our environmental laws, that they have made little diesels 'illegal' in NA, in conotrast with being perfectly acceptable everywhere else in the world. They can continue to refine (expensive) gas and not have to shut down all their refineries. It has to do with what is most profitable to oil companies, not consumer demand. Its entirely motivated by oil industry profits, with a nice shade of green propaganda from the PR specialists, taking advantage of the dumbed down public's willingness to be 'progressive' on the environmental front, without looking at the big picture. The public supports this, while losing out on choices, and paying more for fuel.

hammer.nail.head.
'Muricans are pretty much like sheep with how their government runs them and how they let big corporate own them. Just look at their military, most of it's sponsored, and you can see how things go when a big corporation wants something (oil).

I'm almost afraid that jeep is heading out of the offroad game altogether. Will the next wrangler be IFS? It sure looks like it's going that way... There were already lots of non-jeep jeeps. Compass, Patriot, ...Liberty (Ducks flying objects). Does the brand honestly need another? I think there are plenty of folks who would go for a more utilitarian Less-is-more jeep model. J-12 anyone?

The solid axles are the defining feature, they can do almost anything, but once they go IFS, its over.

I was reading an article the other day about why SFA is the shiznit, and how its is being taking over by ifs due to ride quality. A few references to Jeeps in there, then they made mention on the more uncommon method of giving the ifs a lot of travel as well as way more lift, I think it was called a long travel kit, probably wrong on the name but the article cited that they were coming down in price and with the advent of the new Fiatkee they may even be made by more than a couple of manufacturers.

I dont believe the liberty fits in that statement as I have proven it is capable many times, I do agree the IFS in it should not have happened and they shouldve been SFA. The new Cherokee being IRA and IFS is ridiculous, and points to them going more and more into full range of IS vehicles.

Theres an interview out there that is about a month old with teh head of Jeep/Chrysler. He states that the Wrangler will remain all solid axles.
