lol,I don't know if Tony or JP took any Video of if,but after seeing winch lines comming from more then three jeeps onto a little one it was turned into a shop joke... Not to sound defensive, but You realize that my WARN M8000, which did most of the work at that run, was pulling a locked and lifted XJ (which the snatch-block was attached to), and a locked and lifted TJ used as an additional anchor, all the while running a single line from ME, and attached to Kim's wagoneer on the other end. it would have been a test for any winch to pull Kim's rig through that stump that was in front of her transfer case skid. it's a good thing the other 2 Jeeps DID move, or else we would have ended up ripping her rig in two. As you may or may not have noticed though, while I was pulling the 2 wrong Jeeps, my Warn winch never stalled, and it held up to several other pulls before and after that, a true test for any winch. Trust me, a Warn winch, no matter which one you choose, is a good choice.

I'm pretty sure the straps i had on there were new straps last summer. I try not to re-use them, unless they look to be in very good condition, and even then, I only used the used ones sunday because I couldn't call Napa and have them deliver them to the house.

forgot to add more on sunday. took it wheeling, ripped the rear d-shaft out at the pinion yoke again. straps were stretched I think. took one of the alignment tabs on the yoke out too. wheeled it home in front wheel drive, put a new u-joint in the driveshaft, borrowed another d30 yoke from one of the spare axles in the yard, and installed it on my rear 44. bolted things back together, and all is well in Paradise again.

great run folks, I'm glad I was able to break something so nobody else had to. Thanks Trevor and Crystal for the trailguiding and the grits, and Thanks Dave for letting us huddle up at your cabin. if anyone was interested to know, the YJ actually drives just as well or better as a front-wheel-drive, and I was half-tempted to leave it that way. I was hauling the soggy back-end around at 80-90 k/h no problem, and no driveshaft vibes, or axle-wrap when I started off at stop signs and lights. it was almost half civilized! almost. instead, when I got home, I scrounged the spare parts, got another d30 yoke, some good-looking straps, and a spare u-joint, and tossed things back together promptly.

a whole 4 years ago, I spent many days driving past a fella's place aross the river from me, and noticed he had a big lifted red YJ. I thought it looked really cool, and thought about buying or building one like that. so one day, I got home from work, and my dad said " Myles' Jeep is for sale". I was like "so what are waiting for? let's go have a look at it!" headed over, and had a look at it. it was a '95 with a 4-banger and 5-speed. 33" BFG AT's and a 4" lift. he said he wanted $4995 firm for it. I looked it all over, and we took it for a test drive. It was awesome, drove like a tank, hurt my back every bump we hit, but I couldn't pass it up. I went to the bank the following monday (cuz I looked at it on the saturday), and took out the money for it, showed up that afternoon and paid for it, took the keys, got a plate from DMV, got insurance and hit the road. It was the coolest day ever for me. I took it home, and cleaned it all up, and drooled over it. after a couple of months, I took it to the Fox Mountain truck rally, and wheeled it fir the first real time. it was so much more than I had imagined. I was wayyy over my head, and my entire body was getting beaten to hell. after that weekend, I decided I liked taking the beating. so a month later, this girl I was talking to told me her dad had a lifted Jeep too, and they were going to have a trail run the following weekend. I decided to meet up with them and go along. they said I should have no trouble. I took it out for the Bear river night run trails, and they took me to Crazy French. I followed along, and realized quickly that I was wayyy over my head. near the end of the trail, my frame cracked open by the steering box and nearly ripped itself clear from the Jeep. I was able to limp it back to the Justason farm, and Alan Justason welded it back together for me, not even knowing who I was. I thought it was the greatest gesture. From there, I eventually replaced that section of the frame so it was driveable again, and took it from there. now the only things original to the Jeep I purchased are the rear leaf springs (in the front now) and the body tub. it's still the Jeep I bought when I was 19 though. I don't think I could ever afford to sell it now.

Brandon, I'd imagine he wanted to know how the Spartan works, compared to the competition, such as lockright. I'd imagine he knows how they work in general.

with a 1.5" body lift you will be able to tuck your t-case up a bit and get some more clearance underneath!
