Ok after breaking another birf I think its time for an upgrade!!
its going to be about 800 for the TG dirty 30's about 1000 for longs with hub gears... I can get a 1 ton toyota axle with elocker for about 1000 I'd say, maybe cheaper if I can haggle the guy.
Or if I can find a good deal it'll be narrowed 60's....few options to choose from so I'll have to make up my mind soon as I want to be wheelin quite abit this summer. Some opinions are always welcome lol.

1 ton toy axle eh? Landcruiser parts? The 60 would be the ticket, but you'd have to step-up to a 40" tire to make it worth doing. might hit diminishing returns there. My vote is to try dirty-30's, at least if you upgrade later it'll be an easy sell on the local Insurgent market

Yep FZ 80 Cruiser.....ya its a tough call. The 80 series birffs are supposdly real strong factory, I think guys were beating them at the hammers with 40's with no issues.

dirty30's, lifetime replacement, no questions, will slide right in your current axle.
do you want to wheel, or do you want to do a full on front axle swap? will your knuckles even work? Sounds really cool, but you'll be stuck at home wrenching, not wheeling. If your goal is to wheel a bunch, not build...get slide in axles.

Jan's post reminded me: the 1-ton axles (toy or 60's) will need hi-steer bought or fabbed, where your axle has that all set-up now. less $$ and frustration again...

They do make chro-moly FJ80 birfs too, which makes me think they're not all that tough.

Ya axle swap is out, Dirtys are in!!
I would have too much stuff to re-make if I do an axle swap, steering, spring perches, shock mounts, ram mounts....
Taylor did you already order your axles?

I agree with the dirty 30's, cheaper price than longs with life warranty also.

If I was to build Toy axles today ,think I'd buy the Dirty 30s too.Save a couple bucks to put towards something else. The no question asked waranty is nice too.
Post up some good pics of the dirty 30s when you get them guys.
