checkin out the U-Haul trailer. still waiting for the friggin papers, hard to get hold of the U-haul guy. Went down there and didn't even hang around, line was too big. I need brake parts too. standard issue hub and cone bearings. stub OMG! runz for youz lives! the shakillz iz gonna explode! Putting the CJ to work......I present the yard tug: works great for parking the trailer, you can whiz it all around right easy. so yeah, I need brakes and papers. Buddy had to get it over the border, he said that was done, but he still needs to go to AccessNS. That was yesterday, and today he didn't return my call. I went down and it was so busy i left.

now that's a rather strange equalizer.... usually they have a shackle on each side..... that would work fine, but have less travel gonna paint it olive drab too?

the orange isn't bad, but i would be afriad someone would want to rent it personally, i like red or black for a trailer. but have red, yellow, and grey trailers... really, doesn't matter.... belive me, if thier gonna run into it, color doesn't make much difference... the guy that hit me, drove into the rear corner with the passenger's half of his safari van..... @ 90 km/h ........ some people...........

I'm further behind than the first post....still no papers. i don't own it but i paid for it. buddy finally called me back after the 5th day, i have been calling everyday. When i bought it, the next day he said he had the paperwork across the border......now he says my trailer wasn't in the pile of paperwork, and he has to start over. my trailer lives in Phoenix, AZ. fawk. the brakes are roasted, he took my order, so i will confirm prices on that stuff soon. I told him i was getting anxious about the no returned calls, and that i would appreciate a phone call with bad news over no returned calls. The place is a zoo most days, so I'm giving him lots of lee-way. Just keep me in the loop, I can appreciate a large corporation's bureaucracy getting in the way of common sense.

Well i'm getting fawked by U-Haul. I can get my money back at any time they said, so I will only be out time and some gas from going there 5 times already and Access once. before the sale, buddy told me the title would be transfered by U-Haul into Canada, and i would simply go to Access and put it in my name like a normal transaction. Well the title he gave me was in Pheonix, with a stamp on the back saying U-Haul canada now owns it. He sent me with that to Access.....no go. It needs to be transfered into a Canadian permit by a U-Haul agent, not me. I think they are trying to avoid the border charges, but too late, you sold it to me, I'm not importing it. Its their cost. they sold it to me without it being across the border. I went back and told him i got denied, and that in the original sale, he told me it would be an Ont, or NS title. After hearing i got denied, he suggested i do the "built a new trailer, get a VIN put on it" procedure where you are issued a new VIN, and a police officer witnesses to attach it to the trailer. I told him no way, once something has a VIN, you cannot simply throw away the title and put a new VIN on it. it stays for life. I think it may even be illegal to do what he suggested. Then he told me i had to import it. I said no, you import it, i bought it as having a canadian title. So he had to call other people and i think he got in shit for selling it without a proper title. I'm waiting to hear if they will finish importing it by getting a Canadian title that i can use. I think they are trying sell these things in Canada without incurring border fees. I was the first one thru the door before thay have their scam down pat and they screwed up. If i was told i was importing a trailer from the States at time of sale, i would not have bought it. I was told it would have a Canadian permit. Anyway, i do want to keep trying to get the right title and keep the trailer.....trying to be patient. Hopefully they will register it in Canada, incurr the importation paperwork fees, and then i get a good title. Dude said he would give back my money at any point. So its just a big waste of time at this point, not monetary loss. So far.

u-haul are ruthless in making money. I think that head office staff have motivational posters depicting how to screw people out of money in their cubicles.
I have a horror story dealing with them years ago, never used their trucks again after. too long and off-topic to post here.

I guess a better imported title landed back at the U-Haul place today. Its funny, everytime i call after a few days, the thing i needed "just showed up today!"
Buddy said it looks good for him to go to Access now and get an NS title, and then will be able to sign it over to me. By Friday he says. we will see.
I haven't touched the trailer yet. Not working on it or changing a thing until its in my name.
