Just a little info I thought of while reading this thread. This point doesn't really matter to this situation anymore but a Repo Man cannot come onto your private property to repossess a vehicle without a Sheriff or Police Officer in tow. In the US they can do that but here in Canada its trespassing and theft. Now if you left your vehicle on the street in front of your house then its fair game.

These stupid brakes are obsolete. I'm not going thru this every season. I ripped them off and threw them in scrap heap. If it wasn't pads, it would be a stuck caliper, or needed rotors. One of the calipers looks like it was sticking already. The damn axles don't accept anything readily avail, so it needs an axle swap too, which is going to raise the ride height 5". (the stock axles are dropped on the ends) The surge coupler will have to come off, and a new one fabricated to the correct height for the raised deck height. Need new axles/electric brakes/battery/break-away box. And a couple of tires. NS MVA requires: - Over 3000# must have break-away - over 4000# must have brakes controlled by tow vehicle, and a break-away So it has to have brakes. Not neccessarily both axles. - The trailer is 2000# curb, the LJ is 3700# curb, GVWR 4500#. I'll use the GVWR, even tho it will have no people or gear in it. Its wet, and has bumpers and stuff. So 6500# trailer/LJ combo. My CTD Ram is rated to tow a 13050# trailer.
