Went to Access today to start the registration process....did not go well. I was expecting to be handed a VIN to attach to the chassis, then have a police officer witness and sign off. Register the VIN, get insurance, get a redplate. Before I get the VIN - Access wants me to go thru Motor Vehicle Act Reconstructed Vehicle process. "Application will be forwarded to Motor Vehicle Compliance where you may be required to provide additional mechanical or structural confirmation that the vehicle in question meets all Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, as well as industry structural standards" She said it 'just' goes to Motor Vehicle Compliance, not for engineering approval (which is utterly hopeless), because its an OHV, not going on the road. Booooo! Sounds like a knee to the groin. It doesn't make any sense. It can't be a reconstructed vehicle because it never was a vehicle to start with. It should not need to meet the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards as they are for vehicles that travel on the road. This is an OHV, and there is an OHV ACT for that. I think the registration of your buggy would be under the OHV Act, not the MVA. I realize that things may have changed, but how have other people registered a scratch built buggy? Oh Wayne. If only you knew! When I went through it I was at the counter for almost 2 hours and had at least 5-6 people going through their books and what-nots trying to figure out how to register a custom OHV. The manager was on the phone with compliance and they finally decided the only way to do it was as reconstructed even though they admitted it wasn't quite accurate. They just don't have any applicable forms! Was quite a painful experience!

I don't bother goin threw all that shit. You must have some old papers from some of your pass 4x4s? Just use them as ur title. Those monkeys don't need to know all the details. That's what I'm going to do, I saved the vin tag off my blue Cherokee and when its time I will just go in and switch it to OHV red plates.

Visiting around the neighborhood after winter. Just thought it would be a good spot for a pic. Those big twin shifters from earlier were way too tall and also hit the auto shifter. chopped them up some and put them lower than the auto shift, and forward. That's in Rear-Hi, Front-N. Push shifters forward for Low.

Drained coolant Welded leaks Added 1/2 NPT drain plus, one each side New Temp sensor for computer Moved fan temp switch from engine block to frame rail. Fan now cycling automatically when coolant needs it, instead of staying on when t-stat is open. Engine maintaining 190 idling. Installed Longfield for stock spare that was in driver's front. Clearanced a tube for rear-dshaft at full stuff. Might have been touching a tiny tiny bit if the rig was bouncing and climbing. Swapped out rear dshaft for better one. Front rad hose guard. (Close to front tire) Twin-sticks working great. Reduction box working great again after rebuild. It doesn't like shifting with engine running. But it you shut the engine off, it clicks to all 3 gears perfect and effortless. So I will just do that. You don't really in/out the range box while driving anyway, its more like you pick the gear before you attempt something.
Running good and climbing stuff in the pit on the nice days.
