I already found one. I just have to wait for the owner to realise that he will never get around to using it. He has been going to build a truck for 15 yrs now, but never gets around to it. I'm just hoping he'll decides soon before it is buried in snow. He lives in the mountains in the Northeast US, and if it gets the usual snow fall I won't be able to get it out of the woods until May If this doesn't work out soon I may put one together from PA.

If this doesn't work out soon I may put one together from PA. I'll put my vote in for waiting for the original pieces if you have to. Anything built with 1950's technology is going to be far better than anything built using modern parts. But you already knew that ;D

It starts again. In my bid to finish this thing, and actually keep a New Years resolution it must go on!! The dump body I was hoping for has yet to make it self avalible, so back to an original stlye box. Unbolted floor yet again, Drilled out the spot welds. Boy there were lots, and they were about 3/8" dia. Where did they think the box could go? The trucks only did about 45mph!! Removed floor from box frameing There was some rot in two of the x members, But suprisingly the sections that were still covered in a 50 yr old tar like under coating are like new!! Still red lead primer ;D Removed a box floor from a 1992 Dodge truck, drilled out the spot weld for its x members, and cut it down to size. Tomorrow I'll have to clean off the under coating from the x members to prevent it from becoming a night mare while welding the floor to the framing.

I needed some parts to complete the box, so down to the woods with a smalll generator and grinder. The penny a lb pile has lost its sides. It is ready for the crusher in the spring, as the usable parts are gone Here is the next one to be raped as required It started today with the removal of a pre 1953 stamped WO tailgate Ya can never have enough part trucks

great to have parts laying around. That must have been a lot of work drilling. 208 holes The Dodge floor was easy. Used a step bit, done in 40 min. The Willys floor ate the step bit in 2 min. Drilled 1/8" pilot holes the opened them up with a second step bit. Used 4 1/8" bits and one step bit to finish it up. At $25 per step bit this would get old fast
