Hey very nice! Besides the extra capacity, is it much faster than the 8000? Noticeably better components? Made in US?

Put the 7/16" Amsteel Blue synthetic rope on today. 80'
Breaking point is 30,000lbs. Winch is 12,000 lbs on the last wrap & a snatch block straight back doubles it to 24,000. A little overkill, but it's nice to have.
When I go to the rope, I tend to go 1/16" over what comes on the OEM drum. Warn sends 3/8" cable so I picked up 7/16" rope.
It ain't cheap though... 320$ for 80'. Includes: tax, rope, thimble, labour to cut to length and professionally splice in the thimble. I supplied the hook. No idea what hooks are worth.
Pix to follow shortly.

Neither had I, that's why I picked it up! Lol
In any case, the VR 8000 is now $550. Firm.
In passing, this is an excellent winch... Very strong, and good line speed. It's not an 8274 by any stretch of the imagination, but at 12,000lbs, it's much better suited to the weight of the fully laden LJ. As for the speed, it's not a competition winch, so it appears to be the best choice for the usage.
I considered the 12k PowerPlant, after having excellent luck with the 9500 a few years back, but over time and after considering the alternatives, I went with the VR12000 and the Viair 10007 for OBA. From $$$ standpoint, I am about 500$ ahead doing it this way (900+600) as opposed to 2000, plus I have a 2.5 gal tank that I would have had to install.
Time will tell I guess.

Never realized it was the same as yours. I am not sold on the mirrors yet myself. Maybe they will grow on me.
