Good trail guides are very important. A few years back in Quebec City a group of us were there and it was a total cluster. High quality guides with the ability to make the tough choices and be backed up by Jam management.

Depends on the trail , and the people / rigs on it and the trail guides . Cranfield's revenge last year is a good example . Rain , breakdowns , too many " unsuitable rigs " / no trail experience no lockers or winches etc . The trail guides should have flagged them , Trail guides were busy , I tried to help get things moving Agreed, should have been outa there by 4-5 instead of 7pm. There were rigs there that should not have been.

We gave our guides the final say as to capable jeeps for there trails. The experience part can overcome jeep abilities too. Also if it came to out of towners and locals. We politely asked the locals to run a different trail for the day and let away people run it for the crawl. Anyone local has the ability to run any trail at any point. The execs were there to back up decisions. Problems turn up when trails are full and you have a built rig on 36's and he runs a bone stock trail. We have the same problems with trail guides, nowhere close to enough. No guides = less trails. Less trails =more Jeeps/trail. Just a personal perspective here,it's hard to turn people away from a trail because its "full". We get 100plus for Fall Crawl and need guides to make it all work smooth.

I have always found the Fall Crawl excellent. I ran Crack in the rain last year and was glad to lend a hand when needed. The guides were very specific at registration about experience and vehicle. I got the impression that experience was much more important than the vehicle.

I think Registration and tech is also open Fri morn, for the late arrivals or locals who don't camp.
Trail signups open Fri morn, and you can sign up for both Fri's and Sat's trail at the same time.
Some one please correct me if I'm wrong.

Upon reflection Jan I believe you are right. I have never registered on Friday AM, so I never thought of it.

Also, after you run your trail friday, it is possible to change your selection for saturday, as long as there is room on the new trail you choose. If you do make a change, please make sure to cross your name off the trail list.

I heard that the teeter totter won't be run this year because its on a trail we don't have access to this Jam. Is this true? The teeter totter was one of the things I was looking forward to.
