These cryptic symbols and diagrams must mean something. It appears based on 5 or 6 common letters, with about 20 more to clarify the meaning of the way they are arranged. Has anyone seen something like this before? I think its called ..... in, instr, instuktons or something like that. Parts and part #'s. Bearing set A9. Not the same as stock axles. A9 with race pusher thing on the bearing, and the (too wide) lockring. Had to machine off .060" from the bearing spacer, meaning this axle was never set up right, the shims on that side were not thick enough to make up for how far the bearing sticks out. Maybe this was the 'first' reason the seal was gone. i took the material off the back of the spacer, but then this lip was hooking up inside the housing and killing the fit. Had to turn that down too! And 2nd, had to machine the lockring from .450" to .375". The steel was very very hard and i had to use carbide and take .0005" cuts on the lathe. See if you can stare at this pic for 2 hours. the Superior Axle tech guy told me this....the lockrings in standard A9 bearing kits will hit the inner seal DO NOT PRESS the axle assembly together, only to find out the lockring hits the inner seal. I woulda freeked out. Glad I called them. There it is, with clearance on the inner seal. Assembly today, and a few loose ends around the whole rig, then it should be done. Hoping to have it up coffee night tonight.

I feel you pain Jan about "it was never set up right in the 1st place". Happens to me all the time, customer brings in a used upgrade for me to install, or it's already in the rig and doesn't work right. Then I have to figure out what manufacturer, what parts are missing, what crap work has been done before, good times!!!

Yep. thjat was the biggest loop I've been thrown for in a while. I couldn't get my CJ running two years ago for about a month either. It's on par with that.
Had it up coffee night last night, fun to drive!
