hilift under the bottom hinge pin. piece of plastic between nose of hilift and body. wiggled the door and out it came. Thanks Creepy and Badwithcomputer for the suggestions. That worked. There is no better "look" than soft doors, half doors etc. In function, these latches really suck and it's really noisy on the road. I don't care. Love it.

My pleasure! At least you didn't drop a door like I did. Have you tried them on the highway yet? The tops of mine used to suck open so much that I could stick my hand through and wave at people lol.

Have you tried them on the highway yet? The tops of mine used to suck open so much that I could stick my hand through and wave at people lol. Only up to 80km/h. Wasn't too bad. I suppose it gets worse at 100... totally not practical but if I need to go a distance I'll just put the hard doors back on. The doors need to be adjusted because they aren't sitting right in the hinges. So the seal is wrong and it's hard to close them in the latch. Something to work on...

Originally they would have come with washers to slide over the hinge pin to adjust the height of the door which you lose immediately the first time you take the soft doors off again lol. It also took me an afternoon of fandangling to get them decent but still could never get bang on. I mainly used mine for wheeling to keep the pin striping off my doors.

aha. My solution was going to be digging through my hardware pile for washers that fit so I was on the right track. Thanks.

So this is what came out. 55/100. What's going in is 80/100. Cleaning the connector with coke! (props to Creepy for the idea in another post) Also swapped out this guy for a new to me switch -

Does your headlight alignment motor work ? May be fun to hook it up and give it a try ? What voltage do you have at your sockets? A set of relays will get you more power and way more light. Not too hard of a job to wire them up? But you will loose your DRLs... I am working on getting info for getting the DRLs back up and running. I think it will involve a diode across 2 different poles on the high beam relay....bla bla bla My next step will be the 55/100 h4 , but now you got me thinking bigger may be better ? I just want to have the most light with out blinding on coming traffic. Congrats on the new doors.. Keep on posting pictures!

I never did follow my own advice and check the voltage. After I dumped the stock type lights, I have all the light I want so it wasn't an issue. These current 80/100 bulbs are very bright. Daytime running lights... just about ready to never mention them again. I've burnt out the 4th (used) module in a year, and I've put very few miles on this Jeep. I just swapped the headlight switch because it was faulty. The pull-out switch for driving lights was shorting or something but I had the driving lights on it's own circuit for a while so I'm wondering if the rest of the switch was facked too. Swapped it out for another. I took my grounds apart and cleaned them while working on the headlights. Also, cleaned the plugs for the lights. I'm without daytime running lights right now. But- See the little bulb in the bottom half of the housing? I'm going to put new bulbs, maybe LED in there and wire them so they come on when the Jeep is turned on. Sorted. unless someone can give me a good reason for replacing the DRL module because other stuff runs through it??
