Everything still seals, luckily. I'm going to try to put a hilift under the tub rail, a big ratchet strap across to the rollbar on other side, and beat the dent flat.
The dent behind the light is actually a 'collapse' around the body mount, if flattened it might move the corner back up.
Can't see the droop from the side, just the rear. The tub is NOT rusty either! Just a really hard hit to the bumper from below.

Spring cleaning/Jam Prep. Got an early start his year. Jeep is ready now. Here's what I've done over the last month and a half on the LJ. scuzzy, dented, flaking paint and the bottom of the tailgate starting to go. KBS Coating epoxy paint from CVO. I can't say enough how awesome this stuff is. Buy it, love it. Everything you see painted in the next few posts are from this one pint. Front frame, all wheelwells and frame, front bumper, rockrails, tub rails....and some other stuff. 10 years old, 200000kms, and me driving the piss out of it. Mechanically, its A-1. But needs rust prevention.

Got my buddy Devin at work to make me indestructible sway pins on his big lathe. nicer shot of the bumpstop there too Got some puckboard from Peidmont Plastics, the old stuff was super stained with rust. It was old when I got it. This stuff is brilliant white. Makes the swirlies pop! Winch didn't work anymore. Oh, maybe this corrosion I beat out of the motor has something to do with it. Winch is 10 years old, been outside the whole time. had to strip it right down. had a spare gearbox....jeez, its perfect! So I used that and chucked the one that needs maint. in the parts barn. Later! Thx for the spare Scott!

Had the cowl off and JB Welded some rusties, then KBS'd. got those spots up in the back wheelwell Tried that propane trick. Works pretty friggin' good! kinda splotchy tho. And uses up the propane. Tried the heat gun on 'er. Yup, worked better! Not splotchy, and just plug it in. Painted tons of things. Now for that dent....jacked up the tub rail, which closed over the tailgate vertical gap pretty good. Started beating on it with the body dolly It was wrinkled right to shit Best I could do. No fill, body work sucks! I'll take the wrinkle. I just wanted the tailgate line straight again. It is impossible to match white paint too. Good enough? Everybody hanging out, getting a tan, on the first sunny day ever in Nova Scotia. Damn truckers getting it dusty!

I did the heat thing to my flares, it lasted 4 years so far and still looking great it's all about the propane torch tip , you need a wide one
+ you should not have use the torch by the gas tank cap , A lot of gas fumes come out of there , that was very dangerous

Yes, I totally caught myself doing that and stopped immediately. Worth mentioning tho, thx. The heat gun has the wide tip clip too, I'll try it next time.

LJ Looks good! That paint seems to be a pretty good deal for covering that much gear with it.

A pint was $40 tax in. Totally worth it. It is epoxy, it dries super hard, smack it with a hammer, it doesn't mark. Can't scratch it with your fingernail, you have to use a knife. No mixing, just brush it on. I used foam brushes, they worked good for smooshing into corner and stuff. And it levels itself out.
There are some things you HAVE to do different, like how you can't just put the top back on (it will seal shut), and you can't paint 'out of the can', have to pour some out into a dish.
Epoxy, not paint! Highly recommend it. I even have a little left after all that!

If there is, your cap has a leak and your evap system isn't working... and there would be a check engine light on the dash. I'd use the heatgun anyway... and it's worth using an alternative to an open flame, but I wouldn't consider it an especially risky operation. Bill

LJ looks great!
My plan when I get the time is to do the floor pan in my XJ with the KBS coatings and top coat with rocker guard for texture. Scotty has a bunch left over from the window frame.

I have a sample kit from CVO that I haven't used yet. Was gonna try on the pass. side floor pan if I ever get a chance. I also need to redo my bumpers.
