got a bit more done today . First up was to clean and paint the hub bodies

then to clean the locking hubs and install the Bobby Long hub gears .

these go in pretty easy . first set the hub to free

then take the top of the hub

here is the gear you have to remove

flip it over to remove the snap ring

you need these

with the old gear out , put it on your bench with your new gear on top of the old , its the right thickness to hold the new in place to get your snap ring back on

new gear in

of course I couldn,t stop there . had to do a full rebuild of the hub

see that little indent ball , don't drop it on the floor . ask me how I know

back to the axle . rotors on , bearings packed and installed

new nuts and washers

hubs installed with ARP studs, new cone washers, lock washers and nuts

Pretty what ?

Now , its soon time to start ripping the Sammy apart and get this thing under it .

	Zuki based buggy, 1.6L auto, dual cases, kick+d300, dana 60/ 14 bolt, 5.38 R&P's, 2.5" profender air shocks in front, 4 link with 2.0 swayaway air shocks rear, 46" mickey thompson baja claws, 8000lb winch, RCI seats and 4pt harnesses for those hard upside down impacts with the ground.

going to change the front up abit , it offered lots of protection but the tires made contact when stuffed and i,m going to add 3" more wheelbase front

also burnt out two CTC grinders, went shopping

picked up some new shock towers as well

Cleaned up the frame ,rewelded some iffy spots and put a new piece in where the last two steering boxes were and removed the body mount . new steering box will take up space here .

added some 2" 2x4 box tube to the front of the bumper , this and the new spring mounts will give me the 3"s of extra wheelbase I want .

bought these and the spring mounts from TMR Customs .

along with the extra wheelbase all this also gets rid of the roller fairlead sticking out way too far from the front bumper .

holes for plug welds

these mounts are nice and beefy

drilled the holes out to 9/16

this should hold

now i have to move the rear shackle mounts as the Toyota spring mounts are wider then the samurai's

then have to remove all this
