Well I got it home safe and sound, lol. My own fault though, shouldn't have taken it out like that. Now I just got to find me some parts.

I'm not stuck per-say but the Rubi isn't going anywhere soon. I took the Jeep to the fireworks last night and on the way back home it kicked the bucket. Well the transfer case finally did, lol. I was coming up the 102 from Bayer's Road and as I took the exit for the 103 I lost power at the peddle. So I pulled over and checked it out and found that the transfer case had totally separated in two and the rear shaft was all floppy. I couldn't get a tow last night and I have a bit of a wait until Ace is able to get it today. So if there is anyone here who could help a fellow jeeper get his rig home for cheaper than what Ace would charge. Just call me (Chris) at 719-4694.

Well since mine is now in pieces I am looking for an Rock-Trac NV 241 OR Transfer Case and a front drive shaft. The drive shaft isn't high importance though as mine can be rebuilt again. If anyone has one or knows of one for sale just post up here.

Had an awesome day doing the Woodens River Road trail with my granddaughter Colby. She drove a bit of the way on my lap, found us a mud hole to run through and we had pine cone races off an old wooden bridge, lol. Then on the way home, as we were about to come off the 103, my transfer case exploded while I was in a 110 km zone! I pulled over and Colby says "I think something broke Bamp.", lol. "We better call Mimi and Uncle Jeffy." Donna came out for Colby and while she was on her way I unbolted the drive shaft from the axel differential and literally slid the drive shaft out of the Jeep. The left side of the transfer case is in 4 pieces and the right side is near spit in two. I made it home fine in 2 wheel drive though. So if anyone knows of a Rock-Trac NV 241 OR Transfer Case for sale just let me know. Open to any deal in Canada since in our little pocket of the country the pickings might be a little slim.

That's similar to what I noticed on the JKs. I wonder if all new Jeeps have that nostalgic border on the windshield?

I used that same model at last years Jam. I got mine for $50 and it worked great for what it is. If your in the middle of the pack you can hear everyone, but if your on one of the ends then you don't get everything. Using an auxiliary antenna would help with the range. The fact that it's portable is a bonus too.

What about the locker pumps. Think I need a replacement, if not it would be great to have spares.

I finally replaced my rear seat and now it fits the brackets and it matches my front seats, lol. The other one was out of a 01 TJ.

Even if the headlights were yellow you can go to Can Tire and get "Wipe New", 3M or McGuire's (not spelled right) headlight restoration kits. I have used the Wipe New and 3M ones on my ZJ and they turned out great. Lasts for about 2-3 years depending on the amount of elbow grease you use, lol.

I couldn't tell the difference in the key either? Jan I'm not sure? The tests all pointed to the starter but the brand new one wouldn't work until the actuator was fixed. I then swapped my old one back in and it started right away. Now if I could only get my key to stay in the ignition on bumpy trails, lol. Is your key wore out ? If not then the tumbler is gone , you would need a new one Yeah the key is worn quite a bit. I will soon replace it with a newer one as I need a second key anyways. Though the tumbler could be worn too. The old girl is 10 now, lol.

...And the final answer is. A broken ignition actuator assembly. It must be an epidemic, lol. I ended up buying a brand new starter for $210 taxes in and hooked it up. No change. So I checked out Dartjeep's thread about the actuator and voila! That's what was wrong, lol. I then called up Parts Source, and using my son's name I was able to get the new part for $55, vice $79. It took about 45 min with me watching the video on my iPhone, lol. I used a small precision screw driver and a small hammer to nock out the tamper proof pins and used a regular T10 torx. Best thing of all is that my original starter is still good and I was able to return the new one because there wasn't a mark on it. in the picture below my broken one is in the foreground and the pice that came off.
